If you live in the bay area, you probably witnessed that incredible double rainbow sunset a few weeks ago. I didn’t see the double rainbow but what I saw was spectacular while I was out with the horses. Luckily, I had my camera in my car so I ran to grab it to snap a few photos of this phenomenal sunset. This is what I saw.
The clouds were UNREAL.
It just kept getting wilder and brighter!

Pretty amazing.
When I was younger, I spent hours on end out at the barn. I was able to relive this a few weeks ago when shooting some photos for fun. Chelsea and I wanted to shoot some pretty horse fashion photos with our great photography friend, Henry. I’ve seen so many beautiful ones out there and I had in mind soft images at sun down but then we ended up with some crazy photos during twilight as well. It’s best to have the crazy ideas and then try to just put them to life. Sometimes you get what you want. Sometimes you get more.
My friend from the barn, Lynn, was so kind to let us use her beautiful horse Amante for the shoot. He was such a trooper and for a few extra cookies behaved extra well for us.
I took a broken bracelet and made a hand piece out of it!

I don’t know what it is about horses but they are just amazing.
Then the sun went behind the hills. Here’s Chels with Amante. She was really good with him considering she has no horse handling experience. She’s very calm and he really liked her. I have a few exceptional shots of her and him that we will post on I.F.L.

It was a full moon. I can’t believe how light these photos came out because it was pretty dark out by this point.
This was so fun to play around with lighting and exposures out at the barn. It’s definitely more challenging working with an animal but we were lucky to have a very well behaved horse with us. I also love that no matter how crazy my ideas are, Chelsea and Henry are always game to help make them happen.
Chelsea and I have recently decided to put all of our shenanigans out there in a new blog, IFL Blog. It’s more stories and musings than just simply photos. However, we do keep up with the photos as well. I can’t tell you how hard I laugh sometimes at the things that end up popping up on that blog and the things to come. It’s been keeping us busy and I’m excited to keep it going!
Earlier in the week, I talked about the amazing night time adventure I had with Emily and Matt up to the top of Watson Peak in North Lake Tahoe to watch the sun drop and the moon come up. I snapped a bunch of photos and here they are!

I tend to gauge my life on “moments” where I can recount back and remember exact moments and feelings I had at a specific time. Cheesy as it may be, it’s these moments that change my life in one way or another. This past year has been a year of moments and growth in my life and it’s been my friends and family standing by my side that have really given me the courage to finally go full throttle on life experiences. Working in such a bustling city has been so inspiring but it’s also the moments when I am in the middle of nowhere with two of my best friends that I can find inspiration as well.
This past weekend, I was up with Emily and Matt in Tahoe. We decided to go on a nighttime adventure to the top of the nearest peak to watch the sun go down and the extremely large moon come up. It was insanely beautiful and I felt so lucky to be there with my friends. I have some great photos to share from it this week but on the way up to the top of the peak, we stopped in this gorgeous meadow where Emily found the one and only dandelion. I love that she loves photos too so she let me snap some photos of her and I just love how they came out. When I was little if you found a dandelion, you would pluck it and blow all of the petals off of the stem to make a wish. The idea of making a wish is so simple and almost magical because although we all know that wishes don’t just typically happen, it’s a lot of hard work usually that pays off to get a certain reward.
After this dandelion turned to just a stem, we searched and searched this meadow for another one. We could not find another one anywhere. Em managed to find the only dandelion. It was beautiful and a sign of the seasons changing. I thought I’d want to hang on to this summer forever since it’s been such a great one but I’m actually looking forward to the Fall. Pumpkin, Ginger, hooded sweatshirts, and most of all the changing of all the colors outdoors. It’s transitional and beautiful.
Next time you find a dandelion, pick it up and make a wish. It’s the little things and moments that count 🙂
This weekend was extremely productive for me. I caught up on some much needed rest and I worked on another blog project I’ll be taking part of soon. I can’t wait until it goes live, it’s such a cool and funny blog with other creative outlets. It’s so fun working with other people. I love combining ideas and seeing things from a different perspective! Anyway until then, below is one of the photos my fabulous photographer friend Henry shot for the new blog project.

Hi! I’m sorry I’ve neglected my blog this week, it’s been quite the challenging week with work and things so I’ve had my focus other places. I cannot wait to share with you my house boating experience with all my friends last weekend. It was such an amazing weekend and the weather was really great. I have many more photos to share and a bunch of great photo projects over the weekend and also a new project I’ll be working on that I cannot wait to announce soon :D!

Tuesday night this week, a mini cloud storm rolled in that made for one of the most beautiful sunsets I’d ever seen in the East Bay of San Francisco. The pictures only do half the justice of the unbelievable sunset. I hope if you were in the area you got to enjoy it as well.

Every few minutes with the changing of sun position, the sunset changed in a new beautiful way.
The beams of light were my favorite.
The pictures may all look the same but they are different variations from about a half hour of changes to the sky. I haven’t seen a sunrise or sunset this spectacular in a very long time.

This past weekend and the tail end of last week were filled to the brim with some of the best music from all over the world. I had somewhat of an agenda who I wanted to see at Outside Lands in Golden Gate Park this year but also kept some open spaces to wander and catch new music. I had a lot of friends from SF and coming in from other cities to enjoy the music as well so with all these things on my side, the weekend couldn’t fail 🙂
To kick off the weekend, we went to see Of Monsters and Men at the Academy of Sciences (Nightlife) in Golden Gate Park. They are this beautiful folk band from Iceland. This was also Chelsea’s birthday so how nice of them to play a show for her on her birthday with just a few extra guests 😉 Outside Lands ticket holders had the option of purchasing these few tickets a few weeks before the festival. There were many other shows like this throughout the lead up week and weekend of Outside Lands.
The infamous windmills. These were located near the middle/back lawn area of the main stage. We had the idea of having this be our meeting place if we all got separated but the funny thing is so did everybody else. A lot of interesting things happened here like this girl who decided to climb the post and then got kicked out.
One of my absolute favorite local bands, Geographer, played Saturday on the Twin Peaks stage. They sounded amazing as usual and the lead singer crowd surfed at the end, it was awesome (see photo below).
This is a great sign.
The Magic Crystal is where you could go to see well known comedians perform. This was a cool feature to add to a music festival! Although, it has a capacity and you had to wait in long lines to hopefully get in.
They had artist painting huge murals throughout the festival.
Here’s Bloc Party. There were a lot of interesting lights for the later shows.
Once the fog would roll in in the evenings, you could see lights and lasers everywhere!
Skrillex.
Lots of lights coming out of Skrillex’s space ship to close the festival out on Sunday night.
My personal favorite? Foo Fighters. I don’t have enough good things to say about their set. I remember listening to their old albums in middle school and high school which they ended up playing one of my favorite songs “Aurora” from an old album.
Some other highlights – Beck played an awesome set and brought out all of his hit songs. The headliners included Neil Young, Stevie Wonder and Metallica. Metallica had a crazy fire show with pyrotechnics popping everywhere. There were music varieties of all kinds playing all weekend long. Over 65,000 people showed up to sell out the festival. Fashion is huge at the festival. It was so fun to see everyone’s festival attire. There were local restaurants that vended their delicious eats which is such an awesome feature because if you found something you really liked, you could now visit their location in SF. It was a huge success and I enjoyed it immensely with all of my friends. Now to power through this week so I can relax on a houseboat next weekend. We planned this so we’d have scheduled down time after a long weekend of standing, walking and dancing. I hope everyone had a great weekend and Outside Lands if you were one of the 65,000 🙂
The weather wasn’t looking so glorious this past weekend in the bay area and I won’t have a free weekend to get up to Tahoe for a while so Saturday morning I just up and headed to the lake. Em and Matt were actually in town as well and my other friends were headed up so it made a perfect combination for an R&R weekend. The weather was beyond perfect and I was dipping in and out of the lake as necessary. Towards the end of the day on Saturday, a mini storm rolled in and the clouds set the most beautiful picture.
I’m ready to go back now.

This past weekend in Monterey was one of the largest motorcycle races of the year, the Moto Grand Prix. Some friends invited to me to come down and hang out, so of course you know I would not be missing hang time with some of my good friends and something thrilling. I have to say, this was extremely exciting to be watching in person. The bikes move so fast and the riders are practically half way off their bikes the entire time. It’s hard to catch the detail when they are moving so fast but we cruised around to all different parts of the track to really experience the event.
First things first.

MotoGP at Laguna Seca was an awesome event and I have now I have an idea of how exciting motorcycle races can be. I’ve now seen maybe car races but I’d never seen Moto so this was a thrilling experience!
