The Sky was on Fire

26 Sep

If you live in the bay area, you probably witnessed that incredible double rainbow sunset a few weeks ago.  I didn’t see the double rainbow but what I saw was spectacular while I was out with the horses.  Luckily, I had my camera in my car so I ran to grab it to snap a few photos of this phenomenal sunset.  This is what I saw.

The clouds were UNREAL.

It just kept getting wilder and brighter!

These are all real color, no filters…

Pretty amazing.

Summer Skies

16 Aug

Tuesday night this week, a mini cloud storm rolled in that made for one of the most beautiful sunsets I’d ever seen in the East Bay of San Francisco.  The pictures only do half the justice of the unbelievable sunset.  I hope if you were in the area you got to enjoy it as well.

Near my house.

Every few minutes with the changing of sun position, the sunset changed in a new beautiful way.

The beams of light were my favorite.

The pictures may all look the same but they are different variations from about a half hour of changes to the sky.  I haven’t seen a sunrise or sunset this spectacular in a very long time.

Enjoy!

Mavericks sunset

The sunset last Saturday night in Half Moon Bay was beyond beautiful.  With the clouds starting to roll in, we caught some beautiful colors.

Rainy Sunset

Another successful week down and with the rain letting up the possibilities are endless.  I look forward to another exciting weekend off the grind and spending time outdoors.  Have a great weekend!

Weekend warrior trip = success

16 Jan

The trip down to see my bestie was definitely a success and such a fun time!  She took me all around to see all these places I’ve always wanted to see.  I have SO many photos to share this week and some great stories.  I made it back to San Fran this morning and am getting back in the swing of things before I start my work week tomorrow.  I can’t believe it’s “winter” down there.  The weather was between 65-75 the whole time and just gorgeous.  Happy Holiday Monday!

Somewhere only we know

Lately I’ve been busier than I could even explain.  It’s a great thing but I always need to make the time for getting out to the barn because it’s a place that I feel like only me and Spot can appreciate in the moment.  I absolutely adore him.  I find that on weekends when the sun is out, I love taking him on adventures out of the regular indoor arena that we ride in on dark week nights because it’s lit.  He loves every bit of the attention and he works so hard in every training session we have.  I know it may sound cheesy but it’s really true what people say, there is nothing like the bond between a girl and her horse 🙂  Being at the barn brings my sanity and calm attitude back.  Right before I was about the leave the sun started setting and I snapped some more photos of my haven.  What’s yours??

A place to see it all

11 Jan

This past weekend I went into the city to see my friends and go on a mini-adventure.  My friends, Lacey and Shannon, took me up to Twin Peaks to fully experience a beautiful San Francisco sunset and it was one of the most beautiful views of San Francisco I’ve ever seen.  Here’s my photo review of Twin Peaks’ gorgeous panoramic look out.

Full moon!

Lacey and Shannon taking it all in.

This bird was just hovering taking it all in, too 🙂

Hawaiian Skies

28 Nov

OK, since I have the obsession with taking pictures of sunrises, sunsets, cool cloud patterns, etc. I thought I’d start my week of Hawaii posts off with some shots I snapped of the Hawaiian skies.  I do have to say that the colors in Hawaii are next level beautiful.  The skies are so blue and the sun so red, making for some of the most perfect sunrise and sunsets I’ve ever seen.  Enjoy and Happy Monday :-)!

Another Samurai sun!

It was only fitting that on my flight home I witnessed thee most un-real sunrise I have ever seen.

Zoomed out version of the photo above.

The light was shining right on Waikiki beach.

I have so many more blogs to come.  I’m rejuvenated and ready to get back to work as the new re-inspired (if that’s even a word) me 🙂  I promise I won’t include any sunrise or sunset photos in the next Hawaii posts, I just can’t help but love them.

Flashback Friday – A month of sunrises and sunsets in CA

18 Nov

At the time of day I catch my train in the morning is right about the time when the sun starts peaking over the mountain.  This past month I have seen some of the most beautiful sunrises and although I have a brutal time waking up in the morning, the sunrise usually makes it all worth while.  Here are some of my favorite iphone photos from the past month.

The sun coming out in San Francisco.

When it’s overcast, everything seems to turn blue.

This was a sunset.

And at last but definitely not least, this morning’s sunrise.

The most unreal sunset I’ve seen in a while…

14 Nov

I know I’m always posting about sunsets but they are just so incredible sometimes.  Last night was bittersweet for me.  I got to spend a wonderful Saturday night catching up with my two college best friends and also enjoy a last night with Ian before he left yesterday for Colorado.  I felt extremely sad leaving three major contributors to my life.  I know that sounds silly but the three of them have really been huge parts of my life and although I’m not leaving them forever or anything too dramatic, it’s very rare that the four of us are all in one place together.  I felt very lonely leaving without any of these three coming back with me but this sunset I watched while driving did make me feel much better 🙂

It was so vibrant and beautiful.  The florescent colors just seemed to splash endlessly across the sky.  This was definitely a rare sunset that came at perfect timing 🙂
