New Music Wendesday!

27 Jun

Since I’m such a huge music fan, I’m constantly listening for new tunes that are pleasing to my ears.  Since I’m going on a road trip this weekend, I’m usually inspired by the amount of time spent in the car to make a new playlist.  In case you need some new tunes, I’ve put a few new songs I’m digging on here today.

I just love music and it can make any situation that much better 🙂  I love music for the simple fact that it not only sounds good but it always brings back certain memories of certain times in your life.  I love when a song comes on and it takes me back to a feeling I had long ago.  It can really bring out the inner child in you sometimes.

Enjoy!

Tonight, we are young

30 Mar

On Wednesday, the band Fun. stopped by the Live105 studios to have some pizza and hang with a few lucky winners.  Chelsea and I headed over to share in the good times.  The smash hit “We Are Young” has just slathered all over the radio air waves.  It’s rotating on multiple San Francisco radio stations and is an anthem to all people wanting to stay young.  It’s a great song to belt out when driving in your car, drinking in a bar, or just kicking back with friends.  If you haven’t heard it, after you listen to it I assure that you will probably listen to it more than once.

(Me, Fun., Chelsea)
They hung out took photos and even drew some masterpieces on their posters.  (More photos can be seen at http://www.Live105.com)

And just because I felt the need to include this next youtube clip.  I used to love a band called the Format (favorite song below).  Nate Ruess from The Format, formed Fun. after  The Format’s break up in 2008.  I think he might be a good ingredient for hit songs – just a guess 🙂

Happy Friday everybody!

Stop motion – Inspiring stuff

16 Mar

Being so big into photography and inspiring things, I am so in love with stop motion.  It’s something that’s always there in my mind festering because someday I’d like to create my own stop motion short.  My mind moves so fast though, it’s hard to latch on to one story line.  For those of you who don’t know what stop motion is, it’s movies that are made from single photographic frames.  I’ve posted two of my absolute favorites below.  There’s something about the combination of a good song with a good visual that really inspires me.

And this beautiful piece with music by A Fine Frenzy…

Enjoy these shorts and have a wonderful weekend!

An inspiring start to the weekend

A friend recently shared this video with me and since Half Dome is on my Bucket List and I found this video to be incredibly beautiful, I thought Friday would be the perfect day to share it to start the weekend.  Enjoy!

Flashback Friday!

23 Sep

I used to be an avid home movie maker (which I still do I just haven’t posted any videos in a long time BUT working on putting some of the newer, better stuff up!).  Below is a short video I made of flying over the Great Barrier Reef in Australia from Cannes to Dunk Island.  It’s not the most exciting video I’ve ever made but the shots of the water are so blue, I just want to go back to Australia now!  It gets much more entertaining half way through with my brother’s antics.  I have some pretty hilarious and embarassing content for my new idea of “Flashback Fridays.”  It’s OK I can definitely have a good laugh at some of my past projects so feel free to as well as I post them 🙂

Oh and the part where my brother talks about swimming with a shark… that really happened minus his exaggerations 🙂  We ran into one while snorkeling on the reef!

I made a video introducing my family to the world over the course of our two weeks in Australia together and I have to say that one is pretty funny.  I’ll post that one next Friday!
