Let the good times roll

13 Jun

I still have more BFD photos to share but I have so many files that I need to get organized before I can post the rest.  Until then, here’s another look into my insta-life.  Why is Instagram truly the best?!  I love seeing people’s photos of where they are and what they are doing.  Not to mention, the filters can make some photos spectacular.  Some of these photos however are just iPhone photos and not instagrammed.  Happy Wednesday!

Delicious coffees on Haight St.

The new guy I’m working with is adorable!

Thank god for daylight savings time.  I love evening walks when the weather is still nice like this.

Enjoying the MGM pool while I was in Vegas.

Weekend relaxing.

The barn.

When I ran into my brother and his wife in the Bellagio in Las Vegas!!!

San Francisco lunches.

Margot and the Nuclear So & So’s.

Pool evenings with Brie 🙂

crazy skies one night at the barn.

My dad came out to the barn to hang out with me one night.  It was so nice! 🙂

Driving over the Golden Gate to go sky diving.  It was the perfect day!

Can’t help but wonder ’bout what’s underneath these city streets

29 May

Well this weekend in Vegas was a major success.  I’m just getting back in the swing of things and I’ll lead this short week with just a few photos from the perfect Las Vegas weekend.

You fly right into the Vegas strip.  It’s so nice to land and get to your hotel in under 30 minutes.

Cruising the strip at night, the lights and magnitude never cease to amaze me.

Perfect pool days in the warmth.

You get to watch the madness as you take off to leave this adult Disneyland.

It’s peak season in Vegas and the downtown area is booming.  I got to see my wonderful brother and his wife.  Also, I got to see my best friends for Fiona’s bachelorette.  All was right in the world for a weekend.  Now back to reality and I have some MAJOR things coming up this week.  Can’t wait to share with you all.  Hope you had a great Memorial Day Weekend!

Now we dance in our own picture, where all the rules have changed

21 May

Wow, do I have so many blog posts to come this week.  I thought I’d just start off with an instagram post until I can organize the rest of my posts for the week.  I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!  The weather has been amazing here and I’ve been soaking it up out at the barn and in the city.

Picture perfect weekend weather.

Rooftop life style.

Picture perfect sunsets on Alcatraz.

Reflections of the city.

Dolores Park lounging.

I still can’t even believe we got to hear part of Neck of the Woods live by Silversun Pickups at work…. dream come true.  I LOVE this band so much.  Swoon is one of my favorite albums of all time and to hear some of these songs with the acoustic bass was un-real.

Oh yeah and you know my other favorite band, the Wombats?!  Saw them again and had a fantastic night!

Lunch adventures.

My place.

Where I’d chose to be any day.

Evening walks.

Bay to Breakers.. can’t wait to share all my photos from this San Francisco classic event!

Have a great week!

Never too late for one of these

18 May

Well I was hoping to get this up yesterday for Travel Thursdays but got majorly caught up.  It’s never too late for one of these posts though, right?  I wanted to showcase Las Vegas, Nevada on this one since I’ll be going here very soon with some of my best friends.  One of my closest friends, Fiona, will be getting married this summer and she met her future husband in Las Vegas so it only fit that she go back with all of her girlfriends to remember it all.  I couldn’t be happier for them and I couldn’t be happier that we all get to spend a weekend there together laughing and hanging by the amazing pools with a drink in hand.  I’ve been to Vegas now a few times.  Once for a conference and for another great Bachelorette party.  In the few times I’ve been there, of course I went exploring and shooting photos.

I stayed at the Palazzo one time which is the newer Venetian.  It’s BEAUTIFUL.

Palazzo at night.

Part of the room.  So nice!

Our view!

The pools in Vegas are my favorite part besides for probably the shows, however I’ve never seen a show in Vegas!  I’d love to see the Cirque du Soleil there though.  Maybe I need to add that to my bucket list…

The strip.

The very futuristic mall.  Apparently, the shopping is supposed to be wonderful in Vegas however I’m that big of a shopper and would rather spend the time outside.  If you are into shopping though, you will probably want to go here!

Inside the Venetian.  You can take gondola rides!

More inside the Venetian.  I mean Vegas really thinks of some of the most creative things.

You can also visit the sign and take pics near/under it.

Oh yeah, how could I forget?!  You can also gamble.  I like to sit at the slots with friends but I only gamble about $20 every time I’m there.  I’m not too into the gambling but it’s fun to see all of the lights.

The Paris hotel is so pretty!

Looks just like the real thing but much smaller 🙂

Ballys cool entrance.

The infamous Bellagio light show.  I find the music a little cheesy but think it’s one of the most beautiful spectacles on the Vegas strip.

Caesar’s Palace.

The night clubs are so surreal!  This is Surrender.

Bed/tables in the middle of the pool.

Beautiful light fixtures.

The strip at night.

Las Vegas is a bustling city.  It can be a little overwhelming but nonetheless a great place to explore with friends and family.  There are amazing restaurants and all kinds of entertainment for all ages.  It is the Disneyland for adults!  I still have yet to get to the “old” Las Vegas strip on Fremont street.  I hope at some point I get to experience that 🙂

Happy Friday and have a great weekend!!

Newer Bucket List (Summer) Additions

15 May

As I’ve slowly been ticking off my bucket list this year, I’ve been more inspired than ever to add more things and places to the list.  It’s been such a blessing to be able to conquer some of my bucket list with people very near and dear to me.  It has also been an incredible amount of fun.  I’ve found that simply just putting these things on the said “list” has put more of the ideas to life than I could have imagined.  Anyway, here are a few more I’ve added to my list lately.

Bike ride across the Golden Gate!  OK, this is probably the most realistic out of my recent adds and surprising I’ve never done it but I have always had a small fear of actually riding a bike in the city.  There are many more bike paths by the bridge though, therefore, I will conquer this soon 🙂 (photo)

White water rafting!  I’ve been rafting in a float-down-a-calm-river sort of way but never adventurously.  This seems like a must.  (photo)

Bali, Indonesia has also been added to my list of places to see.  Naturally, this isn’t happening this summer but maybe next – who knows!  (photo)

What’s on your bucket list?  I love reading other people’s.  It’s so inspiring.  Have a wonderful day!

I love this city

9 May

With another beautiful weekend, you know I had a hard time staying indoors.  The best place to be is outside when the weather is in your favor.  It was a very close friend’s (Brie) birthday on Saturday so I swooped her and a few other friends up and we headed to the beach.  This beach is pretty iconic in San Francisco and you’re about to see why.  Baker Beach is known for it’s stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and dog friendly sands.  There was no fog and the sand was like a warm blanket underneath our bodies.  I couldn’t have asked for a better Cinco de Mayo!

Dog’s were frolicking every just so happy to be enjoying the sun, water and tennis balls being thrown for them.  There’s nothing like watching a happy dog, living the life : )

Tuckey even went swimming!  He wasn’t the only brave one.  The water is ferociously cold but there were many brave swimmers on this warm day.

A huge freighter passing through.

Perfect day.

To help get you through this mid-work week day, I leave you with a good summer jam.  Hope you’re having a great week!

I’ll tell you a secret, there’s no secrets this year

4 May

Well there’s never any secrets with me to be honest but this year has been pretty life changing for me in many ways.  I’ve been all over the map and indulging in as much music, friendship/family time, travel, horseback riding and fun as possible.  One thing is for sure and that’s I’m not going to deny myself good times with the amazing people in my life.  Here’s another instagram post about my life as of late and the things that make me happy – Friday being one of them 🙂

Naturally, Coachella was life changing.

A small M83 show my work put together.  They sound SO good live.

Our family’s beautiful golden turned 11 years old this year!

I recorded with some great friend’s on an album!  Just a small part but I’m sure I’ll post it when it’s finished.  Definitely not something I’d ever thought I’d do but it was way fun!

NEON INDIAN!!!  Tahoe friends came down and we danced the night away to this AMAZING band.

I won some awesome jewelry from SF based LITTER.  I’ll be doing a shoot soon to showcase how much I love their stuff so hopefully I’ll be able to do it this weekend and post about it next week : )

Love this one.  We have very domestic date nights which consist of target nights, crafting and making dinners.

We. Met. Wally. from Gotye…. and he was the most adorable man.  He even invited us to his show which was a great live show.  I really love the Making Mirrors album.

Craft store perusing.

Lots of park lounging at lunch time.

Summer hair = no brushing allowed.  Time to be carefree for a few months 🙂

Inspire yourself.  I find quotes like this give me an extra push on some days.

We had an album listen of Rebecca Ferguson from the UK.  She’s about to launch an entire US press tour so you may not have heard of her but you will.  She’s extremely talented and I won’t forget her voice.

Our friend Rani is moving back to Texas 😦  I’ll miss her but now have a new travel destination of interest.  ❤

The weather is warming up in Northern CA!  I see more surf days in my future..

Wayne Brady stops by one of our stations.

A successful craft night with Chels.

It’s baseball season and any chance to spend outside with friends and family is a guaranteed good time.

Of course, you can’t forget about half of my heart.  Horses will be a good portion of my summer.

You might be able to find me here on warm days.

Modern Monday

30 Apr

After my typical peruse of Architectural Digest online, I always find some inspiring spaces.  Recently, they’ve featured interesting restaurants and other modern kinds.  There’s something so exciting about the next cutting edge of an industry and I love the architecture of things.  I think I pick this up from my father who would always have Architectural Digest laying around the house.  I always loved the photos in these magazines.  All photos in this post are directly from the Architectural Digest link above.  It would be a dream to learn how to shoot some of these incredible photos, maybe I’ll put it on my bucket list 🙂

Mexico City – Tori Tori

Paris – Sur Mesure

Hong Kong – Ozone

Brooklyn – Isa

There are so many great aspects of architecture that I just am awe-struck by on this site.  I always gravitate towards the 10 greatest spans post on their site as well.  Here are some of my favorites.

Big Sur, CA

Fayetteville, VA

(near) Boulder City, NV

I could post pictures from this site all day.  It’s really amazing the things that can be created with a talented eye for design.  I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Fun is contagious.

How many people can pond skim one sled?!

On our beautiful Sunday snowmobile session, there happened to be an ever-growing pond forming in one flat of the mountain that we decided needed to be explored.  We decided after a bunch of individual pond skimming that we would really just pile people on one sled to really Spring Break it up.  I literally was laughing the entire time.  It was so much fun.  There are some pretty funny photos, too.

This is how the small pond started.

The guys worked on carving it out more.

Emily and I doubled for the first team effort.  We could not stop laughing.  We love being goofy and doubling together to do silly things.  Last time we doubled was to do donuts on the Phaser… People said they could hear us laughing from a ways away.

Contemplating how to fit more on.

Then we made three on one sled happen.  Easy.

Although, now the pond is growing.

But we made it!

For the grand finale.  Let’s add two more!

We made it!

Celebrating!

Fun is so contagious.

Happy Friday – go have limitless amounts of fun this weekend 🙂

How to enjoy the California snow when it’s Spring time

26 Apr

Well with the warm weather upon us and summer on the verge, you can still enjoy snow in the sunshine.  On Saturday, we headed to Squaw early morning for lots of runs and then the pool and lake in the afternoon.

Matt and Em!

The later in the day it got, the heavier and slushier the snow got.

They have some awesome lake views at Squaw.

For a weekend, there was hardly anyone there.

After our day at Squaw, we headed to a friends house on the lake.  They had the most amazing grassy yard and this incredible pier to lounge on.

The scenery at the lake NEVER gets old.

It was a perfect 75 degrees.

On Sunday, my friends and I hit Mt. Rose on snowmobiles to enjoy one of the last weekends before all of the snow melts.  However, they had a decent amount of snow up there!  It was very warm though, when not riding we were in t-shirts and tank tops.  It was more than a blast and I snapped a ton of photos along the way.

Climbing.

She’s tiny but she’s so strong.

The boys were launching.

Scoping.

Relaxing.

Balance.

We’d snowmobile for a while and then take a break to relax.  Then head back out again.  It was perfect.

One of the guys got a little stuck and had to roll his sled out of this predicament.  It was pretty entertaining to watch.

The sled rolling down the hill.

I’m not sure what was happening at this point in time.  Two sleds sliding.

Perfect skies.

We made a few marks in the snow on Sunday.

I wouldn’t have had it any other way 🙂

I’ve saved the best for last tomorrow.  We found a pond to skim while snowmobiling and things got a little crazy.  I have some AWESOME photos to share of it tomorrow to close out the week : )
