Fall Playlist – Music to my Ears

17 Sep

With all of the great tours happening this fall and our music inspired week we are going to have on IFL, I thought I’d share some music I’m really into right now.  Some old music, some new music but all of it is good music so turn the music up and tune everything else out for a while.

(I found this amazing piece online by Linda Sannuti)

1. Yeasayer “Damaged Goods”
2. Passion Pit “I’ll Be Alright”
3. Two Door Cinema Club “Someday”
4. Animal Kingdom “Skipping Disk”
5. Atlas Genius “Back Seat”
6. Alt-J “Breezeblocks”
7. My Name is You “We’re Alive”
8. Rubblebucket “Came out of a Lady”
9. The Lumineers “Flowers in your Hair”
10. Bombay Bicycle Club “Evening/Morning”
11. Magic Wands “Black Magic”
12. The Black Keys “The Only One” (One of the most romantic songs, just love it)
13. Mark Foster “Warrior”
14. Geographer “Lover’s Game”
15. Dragonette “Let it Go”
16. Local Natives “Wide Eyes”
17. Phantogram “When I’m Small”
18. Emiliana Torrini “Jungle Drum”
19. Miike Snow “The Wave”
20. Good Old War “Amazing Eyes”
21. Foo Fighters “Aurora” (I know this is very old but it’s amazing)

There is so much amazing music circulating these days, my ears are always perked for new tunes.  San Francisco is such a great city for music too because almost every tour stops to see us music lovers.  We are having our first ever Spotlight Artist this Wednesday on IFL so if you love music too you should definitely check it out!  I hope you all have a great week 🙂

Up until the morning hours, we are set free

5 Jun

As promised in my highlights post, I wanted to share more photos from each different set from the most amazing BFD this past Saturday.  I thought I’d start with one of my favorite acts from the day which was SF formed band, Geographer!  I can’t wait to catch this trio again.  I posted my two favorite photos of them in my last post but still caught many more of their set.  I’ll continue to post other band photos throughout the week 😀

Playing around with different angles.

Day time music festivals are so much easier to shoot than indoor stadiums.  The lighting is perfect and you don’t have to worry as much about timing, let alone fixing your f-stops.  I shot all my photos with a Canon 60D on Saturday.  Have a great day and listen to some Geographer to get ya through the work day 😀

Versatile Blogger Award

The Rules of the Versatile Blogger Award:

1.  Thank the person(s) who shared the award with you by linking back to them in your post.

2.  Pass this award to 15 recently discovered blogs and let them know that you included them in your blog post.

3.  List 7 things about yourself.

Thank you to Amanda for nominating me for this award!  What a cool concept!  I’m constantly reading and enjoying many other blogs and feel they deserve a little more credit sometimes so whether or not my opinion means much to them :).

15 recently discovered blogs that I LOVE:

Artistry by Adele – Fun photos and good food/crafts!

Kimberley Inspired– She doesn’t write much but when she does, it’s something good

Lightly SpokenHilarious and quirky.  A great morning read that’s very relate-able!

7 Facts About Myself:

1.  I’m an equestrian to the core.  Horses are one of my truest loves and I hope to someday have a equine physical rehabilitation center to help human beings heal emotionally and physically.

2.  I love numbers and math.  I think it’s fun doing number puzzles and equations.

3.  In high school I probably wrote 20-25 songs on guitar and piano and no one has or will ever hear them haha

4. Pictures, music and memories are priceless to me.

5. The single most life changing event I ever endured was losing my horse.  My life would have been completely different if he had survived.  I actually made a documentary about it that I may share someday on my blog : )

6.  When I was a kid I thought that at my age now I’d have everything in life  figured out.  Guess what, are you ever really supposed to be 100% figured out??  What would you have to work for then??

7.  I used to HATE writing until I took a creative writing class in college and realized that at some point you can decide what you are writing about instead of being told.  Blogging has really escalated a creative writing experience for me and I couldn’t be more grateful!

I love sharing connections through blogging.  It’s incredibly interesting to me to read other people’s blogs.  I can’t wait to read the rest of yours this week : )

Florence has yet another!

26 Sep

Her voice is just too good.  New album drops on Halloween day.  I don’t think I can wait, can you tell?! 🙂

Thanks again to fellow blogger, Kathleen, for posting this!

Any other bloggers who post music videos please find me.  I love sharing music I’m listening to and if we have the similar taste, I’m always looking for new great music!
